1. Online gifts

a Causeview user (internal employee or solicitor) processes a payment on behalf of the donor through Causeview interface in Salesforce.
3. Gift Batches
Batches are donations that often arrive in the mail and are collected by reception. They are then separated into groups (“batches”), often according to the various different payment types (credit card, cheque, cash, etc.), or campaign. In Causeview, to save you time, you have the ability to define batch presets. Batch presets eliminate the need to enter the same information repeatedly (e.g. the payment type or the campaign) when you start entering gifts into the system.
4. Recurring Donations
Donors will sometimes want to make donations that recur, or repeat, at certain intervals. For example, Tom Desmond donates $50 on the 5th of every month to the Haiti Relief Fund. He may want this recurring donation to continue indefinitely, may want to stop it at a particular date, or may want to stop it after a set number of donations have been made. These are known as “recurring donations,” which are often done monthly, quarterly or annually. These may originally be setup via the other methods (online form, new gift, gift batch) however the ongoing payments are inserted for Credit Card/ACH via the Causeview integration with Payment processors. Because of our partnership with payment gateways, Causeview is configured to automatically manage the processing of your recurring gifts. You do not have to do manual uploads and downloads from payment gateways, process credit card transactions manually, or update your databases yourself.
4. Pledges
Pledges are a series of donation installments that are made towards a committed amount on a requested schedule. Pledges are recognized as revenue at the time the commitment is made. These often start out as major gift opportunities with prospects, individuals and organizations, and are cultivated through various stages. Once the prospect, individual or organization commits to a pledge, the opportunity is converted into a transaction. Causeview offers many options for scheduling the pledges, setting reminders and follow-up tasks at specific intervals before and after each installment, and allocating them to specific campaigns, appeals and funds.
