Although Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) is an-easy-to-use fundraising and constituent management application, one of its limitations is its inability to process gifts. Therefore, Causeview Donations compliments this donor management system by allowing you to process gifts directly in NPSP. In this document, you will learn how simple it is to process a gift from the Contact or Account record by creating an opportunity and making a payment. The funds received will go to your payment gateway directly and the information will be captured in NPSP to reflect the payment. This document will teach you how to process a single gift on Causeview Donations from the Contact and the Opportunities object.
Adding a new Gift from the Contacts object.
1. Go to the Contacts object.
2. Search for the contact that you want to add a new gift to. On the top right-hand side of the contact record where it says Quick Gift. Click on the button labeled “Make Payment”.
3. Fill in the required fields. If you are processing a payment in real-time, set the Stage Name to “Closed Won”. Once everything is inputted correctly, click “Next”.
4. Fill in what General Accounting Unit it goes to, and the Amount. You have the ability to add more than one allocation by clicking “Add Allocation”. Your allocation totals must match the payment total. Once completed click “Next”.
5. You can add a “Soft Credit” to an individual if you have a soft creditor, once completed click “Next”. If you do not have a Soft Credit, click “Next”.
6. The final page is a confirmation page that outlines the Payment Information and the Allocation. If the details are correct, click “Submit”.
7. If the gift is a ACH Debit account or a credit card that you are trying to process in real-time, a Payment Successful page will appear, informing you that the payment has been successfully created and provides you the auto-generated transaction ID.
Adding a new gift from the Opportunities object.
1. Go to the Opportunities object.
2. Click on an existing opportunity that you want to add a new gift to. If you are looking to create a New Opportunity, then click "New". To create a new opportunity follow the steps below, if you do not need to create a new opportunity, skip to the third step in creating a new gift from the opportunities object.

A new window will pop up, and you will need to select "NPSP Default" and click "Next".

You will be redirected to another new window where you can enter the details of the Opportunity. Please enter all the mandatory fields with the asterisks beside them and click "Save".

Once you have saved the opportunity, a new green pop-up will appear on the top of the screen to confirm the opportunity was created. Navigate to the specific opportunity, and open the record.
3. On the right-hand side where it says Quick Gift click on “Make Payment”.
4. Fill in the required fields. If you are processing a payment in real-time, set the Stage Name to “Closed Won”. Once everything is inputted correctly, click “Next”.
