This article will give you an introduction to using Impact Events. With Impact Events you can quickly create Fundraising Events with different types of ticket packages, promo codes and guest settings. You constituents will be able to make an optional donations, and manage their guests.
An Event is a special type of Appeal that relates to a specific event that your non profit organization is hosting. Unlike an Appeal which can have many forms, the Event Appeal is specifically designed for events that have guests, etc.. Using this Appeal type will help manage event registrations, costs, etc. that a standard Appeal may not have. It is best practice to create an event under the appeal that you are trying to raise money for by hosting that event.
Create an Impact Event
Impact Events are connected directly to your Donation Management application. Once you create your event (campaign record) in your Causeview Donation Management application you launch Impact Events. A new tab will open to your new Impact Event dashboard. From here you can manage your packages, promo codes, forms and pages, tickets and much more.

Working with Ticket Packages
Tickets for your event are sold in Packages that can have one or more tickets. Each package can be free, assigned a cost, and a benefit amount. Once the quantity of packages you've allotted are sold, the package is marked sold out. Packages can be hidden or set to expire (e.g. early bird package).
Changes to ticket packages are applied immediately.
When only 10 or less packages are available a note appears under the dropdown list to inform the user of the remaining number of packages.
To add a package, navigate to the packages tab and click New.
- Package Name: Display name of the package the Registrant is selecting.
- Ticket Cost: Cost of the 'Package'.
- Benefit Value: Amount that will be deducted from the total when written into Salesforce to ensure only remaining amount is included in Tax benefit.
- Number of Attendees: The number individual registrants that will be provided for signup of the Package.
- Description: Text detail of the Package that will be displayed on the form.
- Quantity: Overall number of Packages of this type being available.
- Sale Expiry: Date the Package will be marked as expired and prevented from being sold.
- On Sale: Status of visibility on the form from registrants.
- Display Order: Numerical order of this package in relation to others.
Promo Codes
Promotional Codes are available to offer discount on ticket packages. Promo codes can discount a fixed amount. or a percentage of the total cost of an order. Discounts do not apply on donation amounts. Receipts reflect package costs less promo code discounts and benefit amounts.
- Promo Code: Coat that will be required by registrant to enter to receive discount.
- Discount Type: Percentage of total purchase or Fixed amount off from total purchase.
- Discount Value: Amount of discount (Percent or Amount).
- Description: Text detail of the Package that will be displayed on the form.
- Sale Expiry: Date the Promo code will be marked as expired and prevented from being used.
Event Forms & Pages
An Event Form is used for constituents to order ticket packages and register for an Event. You can embed forms on your website. Event forms show all packages with quantities for sale, validate promo codes, collect the optional donation. The form processes any payments and creates the necessary records in your Causeview Donation Management application. Once the Event form is submitted(and any necessary payment processed) tickets are created in the Donation Management application. The registrant can immediately enter their guest information.
An Event Page is a standalone webpage that can be used to sell tickets. You can select a layout add a description and images. Pages work well if you do not have the ability to setup event pages on your primary website. DNS masking could be used to make an Impact page a subdomain on your own site.
Guest Settings
With Impact Events you can define what information you want to collect about each attendee. If you're serving a meal attendees can enter their dietary preferences. Data is stored on the ticket in your Causeview Donation Management application. Email is the only required field to facilitate sending tickets.
Guest Management
Once the initial registration is complete, registrants can update guest information. The email confirmation has a link to enter or update guest information. When the primary registrant assigns a ticket to a person, they receive an email where they can update their own information, cancel their ticket or gift their ticket to someone else. When a ticket is re-assigned (swapped) to another contact the original ticket is marked as cancelled.
