Impact Designer provides you with the ability to specify how you want your form displayed when it is embedded on a page. You can choose to display the entire form vertically or through a wizard.
A wizard displays each section as a separate step where the donor goes through each step to populate information and submit the form.
When you preview a form, it provides you a preview of the vertical display by default. However, you can preview the form in wizard display by clicking on Wizard on top.
When previewing the form in wizard mode, you are able to see the wizard pages (steps) on top.
Impact Designer allows you to customize the following for wizard display:
Customize Wizard Steps
In wizard mode, each form section becomes a separate step. Each section on a form is denoted by a gray background so you can easily tell what fields make up a section.
By default, the section name becomes the step name in wizard mode. To customize a step name, click on the section to select it and then in the Properties Panel on the right, change the Step Title.
Optionally, you can choose to add a Step Description as well. The step description can be used to provide more information to the donor or to help donors better understand the information they are expected to complete.
The step description appears on top of the wizard page.
Combine Wizard Steps
You may want to limit or reduce the amount of steps donors have to go through when populating their information on the form. This is where combining wizard steps becomes handy. This feature allows you to combine two or more sections into a single step.
To combine steps, click on the section first to select it. Then in the Properties Panel on the right, remove the checkmark beside Create New Step. This will combine the section you selected with the section before it.
For every section where you deselect "Create new step" it will simply combine it with the previous section.
