In Causeview any single person who interacts with your organization is called an individual and should be saved in the application under the “Individuals” tab.
In Causeview, individuals should be associated with an account - an organization. If you know the employer for an individual, the best practice is to create it as an organization and identify it as the person’s account. However, if you don’t know or don’t want to identify an individual’s employer, the record can fall under the Causeview general account, “Individual”. Any individual saved to Causeview without a specified account - that is, saved with a blank “Account” field - will automatically be placed in the Individuals account.
An individual must be saved in Causeview in order to process gifts, and over time they will accumulate a history of giving in the application. Individuals’ records are also useful for tracking interaction with the organization, through stewardship tasks, event attendance, recurring gifts, and soft credits.
